Joel "Gilberto" Balderas
February 4, 1972 - March 2, 2010
Joel (Gilberto) Balderas of Waco passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Roman Burgos officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Brazos Funeral Home.
Gilberto was born February 4, 1972 in Rio Verde SLP, MEX to Julian and Maria "Ibarra" Balderas. He was educated in Mexico. He worked at Wolfe Wholesale Florist in the shipping department for a number of years, from there he became self employed in the transport business.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco, and very active in church activities and sang in the choir. His daughter, Yuridia was the center of his life.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Balderas.
He is survived by his daughter, Yuridia Balderas; his dear parents, don Julian and dona Maria (Ibarra) Balderas; brothers and sisters, Saul Balderas and wife, Kellie; Jaime Balderas and wife, Margarita; David Balderas; Zoila Balderas de Acevedo and husband, Pedro; nieces and nephews, Adriana, Ornar, Eliza, Christopher, Isaac, Roberto, Martin, Sarahi, Isbai and Sayid; many other relatives and friends.
