Margaret Dominguez
June 10, 1914 - February 21, 2010

Margaret Dominguez of China Spring passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Gonzalo Ferrer as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, at Brazos Funeral Home.

Margaret was born June 10, 1914, to Roman and Inez (de Leon) Dominguez, in San Luis Potosi, Villa de Ramos, Mexico. She came to Texas with her parents and three younger siblings on March 25, 1925. As a farming family, Margaret spent her childhood and growing years, working in the cotton fields, and caring for her younger siblings. She was a teacher to us with her cooking, her faith and her spirituality. Her favorite pasttimes were spending time with her family, friends and her pets. A proud accomplishment was becoming a naturalized citizen together with her sister and two brothers in 1948.

Margaret had 15 nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dolores; and brothers, Pete and Tommy; her niece, Mary Alice Dominguez; and nephew, Roman Dominguez.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Dominguez; brother, Julian Dominguez and wife, Valentina; niece, Mary Margaret Plemons and husband, Randy; great nephew, Roman Plemons; and great niece, Elysia Plemons, all of China Spring; her devoted caregiver, Helen Smith; and numerous others nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Roman Plemons, Joey Dominguez, Edward Jimenez, Jordon Jimenez, Charles Dominguez and Larry Plemons.
